Matte Elsbernd web publisher. writer. photographer. 30 years experience.
The web has always attracted me as a way to express my ideas. My ideas come in many shapes and sizes. Whether it's visual, verbal or programmatical, I've found some way to explore them, whether it turned into an actual website, stopped as a small demo, or remains simply an (not so) used idea that is waiting for someone else to take up and run with.
The sites/projects below are pretty much 100% my work from idea to writing, design, development, etc. I think it's a pretty impressive list, but it's still just a sliver of the ones I've wanted to build.

The New Baby Name Index (September 19, 2015)
The New Baby Name Index 1996-2015
To all those looking for The New Baby Name Index, we say goodbye. Started in 1996, NBNI was one of the first baby name sites. The site grew to become a trusted resource for many. But as time went on, there were a lot of other places to find information on names and there were a lot of other places for the creators to focus their time. With children of their own, the time to run the site became scarce. Finally, we made the decision that maintaining an outdated resource was worse than shutting it down. We just missed 20 years and it's a sad day, but we wish you all a happy day. Thanks for sharing the web with us for 2 decades.
