the dose of reality which i swallowed today
must have been too much.
my body has been spasming
in the throes of an overdose.
they pump my stomach,
trying to expell the raw taste
of all i sucked in
during this long, horrible day.

nothing could have prepared me,
nothing could ever repay me.
