WESTERN UNION

an awkward step falls
where the sun has never shined,
the rain has never poured down,
and i turn and turn in circles
trying to find the shadows following me
but they sneak away faster then i can.

the days never get colder then this
except in the dreams i try so hard to forget,
but these visions of mine
are immortal messages
and i am the bonded messenger
who must get it through

rain or shine,

war or peace,

alive or dead.
